Who's the Boss?
by Richard Curtis
One day when my children were young they were having lunch in our breakfast room when their conversation turned into an argument. My wife and I were around the corner in the kitchen and they were unaware we could hear them.
The conversation began with a question brothers and sisters have probably been asking for hundreds of years: “Who is the boss of the family--Mommy or Daddy?”
My daughter opened with “Mommy’s the boss!”
Her older brother replied: “Daddy’s the boss!”
Mommy’s the Boss!
No, Daddy’s the boss!
No, Mommy’s the boss!
Then there was a moment of silence, followed by my son winning the argument hands down when he exclaimed: “Oh yeah? Well, JESUS is the REAL boss!”
But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16 (NIV)
